NBA 2K19 Neighborhood

NBA 2K19 features a new, reimagined Neighborhood from last year’s. These new changes shake up the core concept of the Neighborhood, and really change the social space we’ve grown use to. To help you navigate the new changes, check out the NBA 2K19 neighborhood guide below.
Note: Before you can access the Neighborhood in NBA 2K19, you need to complete the Prelude. Once the Prelude is complete and you’ve signed with an NBA team, you are able to run around the Neighborhood and take part in various activities.

MyCOURT High-Rise

MyCOURT is the first area of the Neighborhood that you start in. Like previous NBA 2K games, the MyCOURT in NBA 2K19 features a few interesting gameplay aspects. At the MyCOURT you can shoot hoops on your full size court, or watch NBA 2KTV on the flatscreen by the couches. The MyCOURT is customizable, so you can change the look to your liking. This can be done through the Nav screen under customize your MyPLAYER. From there you can then select the MyCOURT tab. From the MyCOURT menu you can change things like backboards, color of the ball, and apply murals to your MyCOURT.
As you begin to level up your character you will unlock more activities for your MyCOURT including an arcade machine and carnival hoops game. The main appeal of the MyCOURT is having a place to chill out with other friends who own NBA 2K19.

NBA Store (Player Apparel)

Facing away from your MyCOURT, head along the street to the left to reach the NBA Store. In the NBA Store you can buy different items to swag out your players look. In the NBA Store you can spend VC on jerseys, hats, watches, and a number of other on court items to make your player look more unique. As you level up your character, the NBA Store will have more items to offer you, so check back intermittently for fresh stock.

What Can You Buy at the NBA Store?

The NBA Store is focused solely on NBA products. These products range from Jerseys to Hats. For a full look at what they sell at the NBA Store, check out the list below:

  • Special Gear: Weekly items like short shorts and throwback jerseys.

Doc’s Barber Shop (Haircut)

Beside the NBA Store (down the street slightly) is Doc’s. Doc’s is where you go to get your haircut. At Doc’s you can choose from a wide selection of haircuts to suit your style. As you level up, you will unlock the ability to dye your hair whatever color you like, so comeback to Doc’s if that interests you.

Wheels (Transportation)

Wheels is your one stop shop for transportation in NBA 2K19. You need to be at least level 85 to access this shop.
Neighboring Doc’s is a new shop called Wheels. Wheels serves as the shop for the various transportation methods you unlock by levelling up your character. You need to be level 85 to enter Wheels. Once you’ve reached this level, you are able to enter the store and check out the bikes and skateboards they have for sale.

Alley-Oops Tattoos (Tattoos)

Directly beside Wheels is Alley-Oops Tattoos. At the tattoo parlour you can get various tattoos for your MyPLAYER using VC. As you level, more areas of your body become available to tattoo. Check back to see if you can ink out any places you may have missed.

Swag’s Main Street Clothing (Player Apparel)

If buying player apparel from the NBA Store doesn’t appeal to you, Swag’s is your next best option. Located just down the street from Alley-Oops, Swagg’s Main Street Clothing features a more diverse, less NBA-centric line of apparel for purchase. In Swag’s you can purchase a wide range of items including new shirts, pants, hats, and more. As you level up your MyPLAYER you can even unlock things like jewelry and eyewear for purchase.

Foot Locker (Shoes)

At the end of the street you will find Foot Locker. Foot Locker, as the name suggests, deals mainly in shoes. Here you can spend your VC on new kicks for your MyPLAYER. You can choose from On Court shoes and Street/Park shoes.

Foot Locker is focused solely on supplying your MyPLAYER with footwear for both On-Court (NBA) and Street/Park scenarios. The brands you are able to choose from when purchasing from either category are as follows:

Now we are heading down the street to the right of Foot Locker. On this page you will learn the locations of the Pro-Am arena, Boost Stand, Cages, and Ante Up. Let’s get started.

Neighborhood Events: Billboards

Billboards NBA 2K19
Billboards are scattered around the Neighborhood. Be sure to check on them periodically to see what events are coming.
Before we continue on down the street, I want to point your attention to Billboards. Billboards serve as a good way of seeing what is going on in NBA 2K19 for the week. As a quick example, launch week is holding a couple of events during the week including 2K day dodgeball (starting Sept 11). Keep an eye on the Billboards you see around the Neighborhood to learn a bit about what events are happening. Events often give out different goodies and bonuses for competing in them. There are a number of events including the following:
  • Reeses’ Puff Crunch Hour.
  • Trivia.
  • Court Conqueror.
  • Gold Rush.
  • Dodgeball.
  • Red/Blue Ball.

Pro-Am Team Arena

The Pro-Am Team Arena is where you want to go if you want to take part in the NBA 2K19 Pro-Am league.
Along the road to the right of Foot Locker you will find the Pro-Am Team Arena. In this building you can create and take part in the NBA 2K19 Pro-Am league. Enter the building to get started in the process.

Boost Stand

Boost Stand NBA2K19 location.
At the Boost Stand you can buy boosts that will temporarily improve your MyPLAYER’s abilities.
The Boost Stand can be located just right of the Pro-Am Team Arena entrance. This stand was probably the most confusing to find in NBA 2K18, so 2K has made some changes to make it far more accessible. At this stand you can buy temporary boosts that improve your MyPLAYER’s ability for a set amount of games.

Under Armour Cages

Beside the Boost Stand is a new area called the Cages. This area is where you go to challenge other squads to pick up games. There are a number of full courts in the Cages. You will notice the Cages are a bit different than other courts in the Neighborhood as they come with Trampolines for an added boost aerial boost.

Ante Up Building

Next to the Cages is the Ante Up building. In this building you can wager VC in games against other players.
Besides wagers there is a new Daily Prize wheel inside the Ante Up which you can spin once per day to win different items (VC, Apparel, Shoes, etc.).

Daily Spin Room

A new update has moved the location of the Daily Spin. You will now find the Daily Spin wheel in the room to the left of Ante Up and right of the Cages. In this room you can spin the wheel once per day to win different items (VC, Apparel, Shoes, etc.). Besides the Daily Spin you can also play Daily Pick ‘Em which allows you to win VC for choosing the winners of real life NBA games coming up. You can aim for 100 VC per right answer, or go for double or nothing (requires picking all winners for that day).
That’s all for this street, let’s take a right at Ante Up and head back towards are MyCOURT building (along the street we have yet to go down). On the next page we will cover building like the Jordan Rec Center, Gatorade Training Facility, and Team Practice Gym.
We’ve checked out a number of buildings up to this point, so it’s time to make are way back to our MyCOURT.
